TAV offers 6 different diploma/DEC programs within a diverse range of disciplines from the arts and sciences to early childhood education and specialized education care.
1. Science (Health or Pure and Applied Profile) - 2 years
The Science program at TAV is a two-year, pre-university program where students may choose to pursue either the Health Science or the Pure and Applied Science profile. The programs prepare students to pursue higher education in (but not limited to):
- Fundamental sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Sciences
- Engineering: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer
- Health sciences: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy
2. Social Science (General or Commerce Profile) - 2 years
Both general as well as commerce profiles are offered at TAV College. Depending on the profile chosen, you will have an opportunity to analyze human experience through the perspective of various disciplines such as psychology, geography, economics, political science, sociology, and administration. The Social Science program aims to introduce you to these realities, explore important theories and authors, and, to help you understand the world through various approaches in social sciences.
3. Arts, Literature and Communication (Media Option) - 2 years
The Arts, Literature and Communication – Media (ALC) program allows the student to become familiar with the technologies of communication. Prospective students will have an interest in media, web interactivity and creativity. They want to develop the skills necessary to pursue university studies in new media and television on the web. Students will get an opportunity to experiment with media production techniques while gaining a more in-depth knowledge of culture in general.
4. Early Childhood Education - 3 years
An individual who has received a Diploma of College Studies in Early Childhood Education works with children from the ages of 0 to 12 and can take part in the management of a daycare center.
The main function of an early childhood educator (ECE) is to create an environment that promotes the physical, motor, cognitive, language, socio-affective and moral development of a child by establishing in them a significant affective relationship. In addition, the educator’s role is to develop, organize, lead, and evaluate educational activities that promote overall child development.
5. Special Care Counselling - 3 years
The successful completion of the program allows students to acquire skills that will enable them to exercise the profession of a special care counsellor or a specialized educator.
Graduates will be able to work with people who have or may have different problems causing maladjustment to social inclusion, work with people with physical and psychological disabilities, behavior problems, disorders linked to mental and health-related disorders. Interventions are adapted to all age groups, whether they target children, teenagers, adults, or seniors.
6. Springboard to DCS - 1 year
The Springboard program is designed for students who have successfully completed their high school diploma but, they are lacking the prerequisites to gain admission into the program of their choice.
This program is geared towards students who wish to obtain a college diploma in science but lack some or many of the prerequisite math, science and/or language skill credits to be admitted. In this program, students will take courses in English, French, Math (algebra, functions, and trigonometry), Physics, and Chemistry.e.
